ABRSM Composer Mentoring Scheme

I'm very excited to announce that I've been selected as a participating Composer in the ABRSM's inaugural Mentoring Scheme, a new initiative designed to provide composers with an immersive insight into the educational publishing industry, and new music's place within it. Fantastic to be working too with my fellow mentees and colleagues, Kemal Yusuf, Julia Han, Shruthi Rajasekar, James B. Wilson and Kristina Arakelyan.

Particularly, we'll have the chance to sharpen up our educational skills, plan out new projects, and gain valuable experience writing new pieces to briefs from the ABRSM's various syllabi – and in so doing, help inspire a new generation of musicians to take a deeper dive into what weird and wonderful music is out there, and maybe start having a go at writing some of it themselves!

Looking forward to working closely with programme leaders Sarah Watts and Andy Grappy on this, and I'll be sure to put some updates out both here on the website and on my Facebook and Instagram as the scheme progresses. For more details and the official press release, follow this link here.
